Winemaker Notes
Merlot was the standout varietal from the 2019 vintage so not surprising this Meritage is a blend of 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon. The grapes were hand harvested from our Home Farm in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Fermented in small, open bins with daily pigeage (punch down) and underwent malolactic fermentation. The wines were then pressed to oak barrels for 15months maturation. Four barrels - two new American Oak and two seasoned French Oak - were selected for final blending.
